IDS WebCAM terms of service

IDS WebCAM proposes feed rates. Whether a program runs on the machine is always your decision.

Effective 3 October 2026

Change of 3 October 2026: new section “Fonts”. The previous version was effective from 27 September 2026 (editorial change of 1 October 2026: module name).

These terms govern the use of IDS WebCAM: the ids-webcam.eu website, the app.ids-webcam.eu application and your account. They are the terms of service required by Polish law on providing services by electronic means, and they replace the former “Licence and terms of use of the G-code converter”. By using the app you accept these terms. This is a translation. The Polish version is binding.

Terms used here:

  • User (you): anyone using the app, with or without an account.
  • Consumer: a natural person using the app for purposes not directly related to their business or profession.
  • Sole trader with consumer rights: a natural person running a business for whom using the app is not of a professional nature arising from that business (Art. 38a of the Polish Consumer Rights Act). They enjoy consumer protection to the extent set out in the law.
  • Output: any file, preview, report or value the app calculates or generates, in particular recalculated G-code.

Scope of the service

IDS WebCAM provides:

  • The app for recalculating feed rates and spindle speeds in G-code files based on machine dynamics, and for analysing the program (preview, chipload, machining time).
  • The shape generator, marked BETA in the app: creates simple toolpaths from a drawing.
  • An account (optional): stores your settings (tools, machines, presets and the machine profile) and syncs them between your computers.
  • A file library (“Files”): stores in your account the files you decide to save there.

IDS WebCAM is in beta and is free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, using them will require your separate consent. We will give notice of changes to free services as described under “Changes to these terms”.

Calculation is performed by your browser. Loading a file for recalculation sends nothing to the server.

Technical requirements

  • an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) with JavaScript and browser storage (localStorage, IndexedDB) enabled;
  • a computer with a mouse or touchpad and a screen whose shorter side is at least 600 px (phones and tablets without a mouse are not supported);
  • for the account: an e-mail address or a Google account, and an internet connection when signing in and syncing. Recalculation itself works offline once the app is loaded.

Entering and ending the agreement

  • Without an account, the agreement is made when you open the app and expires when you close it.
  • With an account, the agreement is made for an indefinite period on your first sign-in.
  • You can end it at any time, without giving a reason and at no cost: write to biuro@illusion-design.studio from the address your account uses. We will delete the account together with its stored data. You can also delete the account yourself in the app: account window → “Delete account…”. This also covers the 14-day right of withdrawal available to consumers and sole traders with consumer rights.
  • We may end the agreement with 14 days' notice for important reasons (e.g. discontinuing the service), or without notice if you seriously breach these terms, in particular the rules of use. Before we delete an account on our own initiative, you will have the opportunity to export your data, unless the law prevents it.

Rules of use

You must not:

  • provide unlawful content, including storing in your account content that infringes the rights of others;
  • disrupt the service, in particular attack its servers, circumvent security measures or try to access other users' data;
  • use someone else's account or share your access in a way that compromises the security of the service;
  • load the service with automated traffic beyond normal use (bulk requests, bots).

Output and machine safety

The Output is a proposal, not a program ready to run. The app calculates feed rates from a model of machine dynamics and from parameters you enter yourself: the machine profile, tools, material and feed limits. The model simplifies reality, and the quality of the Output depends on the accuracy of that data.

Before you run a program on a machine:

  • check it in a simulator or with a dry run above the material;
  • make sure feed rates, spindle speeds and limits are within what your machine, tool and workholding can handle;
  • for the shape generator (BETA), also check the toolpath geometry, as the generator creates it rather than just recalculating it.

The decision to run a program and supervision of the machine always rest with its operator. Follow the safety rules for machine tools.

Fonts

The app includes fonts under free licences; their texts are in the ‘Library licences’ file. You may use lettering made with these fonts without restriction, including in products for sale. You may also use your own font: choose its file or, with the permission you give in your browser, pick a font installed on your computer. Such a font and the list of fonts on your computer are processed only in your browser and are not sent to our server; a project and the library store only the shape of the lettering and the font name, not the font file. You are responsible for having the right to use that font in this way, including in commercial products — check its licence.

Your data and files

  • Your files, settings and Output belong to you. We acquire no rights to them.
  • You decide where each file lives: on your computer or in the library in your account. By saving a file to the library, you allow us to store it and make it available to you on your computers, and for nothing else. This permission ends when you delete the file or the account.
  • Export at any time: the “export data” button in the Tools tab (or “Export (ZIP)” in the “Files” window) saves all your settings and library files, from this computer and from your account, to one ZIP file.
  • The copy in your account does not replace your own backups of important files.

How we process personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Liability

The service is free of charge and in beta. We make every effort to keep it working correctly and without interruption, but we do not guarantee it will be error-free or always available. We may change, develop and temporarily suspend it, for example for maintenance.

Towards businesses

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service provider is not liable for damage resulting from the use of the Output, in particular damage to machines, tools, workholding or material, downtime or lost profits. Statutory warranty (rękojmia) is excluded. This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or to other cases where the law does not allow liability to be excluded.

Towards consumers and sole traders with consumer rights

We are liable as provided by law, including for conformity of the digital service with the agreement under the Polish Consumer Rights Act. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights you have under mandatory law. The recommendations under “Output and machine safety” still matter: we are not liable for the consequences of running a program contrary to them, or for the consequences of incorrect machine and tool data you enter.

Complaints

Send complaints about the service to biuro@illusion-design.studio. Include an e-mail address for our reply and a description of the problem. If you can, also include the app version (the number next to the logo) and a sample file that shows the problem. Sending a file is voluntary and only for handling the complaint.

We will reply by e-mail within 14 days of receiving the complaint.

Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution, for example the help of a municipal or district consumer ombudsman or the regional Trade Inspection. Information is available from the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (uokik.gov.pl) and from consumer bodies in your own country.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for important reasons: changes in the law, changes in the scope of the service (e.g. launching the file library or paid plans) or security considerations. The current version is always at this address. We will notify account holders by e-mail at least 14 days before changes that affect the account take effect. If you do not accept them, you may end the agreement at no cost before that date.

Final provisions

  • These terms are governed by Polish law. Consumers keep the protection granted by the mandatory law of their country of habitual residence.
  • Disputes with businesses are settled by the court competent for the service provider's registered address. Disputes with consumers and sole traders with consumer rights are settled by the court competent under general rules.
  • These terms are available free of charge at this address. You can save or print them.
  • The Polish version is binding. The English version is a translation.
